Getting to document Deisy and Ethan’s Coopers Hall Wedding was extra special for me. Not only are Deisy and I part of the same book club, but their entire day felt so centered around family and the people closest to them. To top it off, Coopers Hall was the perfect backdrop for their fall-inspired celebration, and I’m excited to share a little glimpse into their day, along with why it’s quickly become one of my favorite Portland wedding venues.
My Favorite Moments From Deisy and Ethan’s Coopers Hall Wedding
Incorporating Their Son Throughout Their Day
One of the sweetest parts of Deisy and Ethan’s wedding were all the ways they included their 8-month-old son. They started the morning getting ready at the Hotel Grand Stark, and instead of doing a traditional first look alone, they included their son, who looked so adorable in his tiny suit.
Once we got to Coopers Hall, we took a few more family photos. Then, during the ceremony, their son got carried down the aisle which was seriously so sweet. It was clear to everyone how much these two love him and how intentionally they wanted him woven into every part of the day.
Fall-Inspired Wedding Details at Coopers Hall
Alongside the emotion felt throughout the day, I loved how beautifully Deisy and Ethan’s wedding was styled. Since it took place in the fall, their florist, Little Fig, brought in the perfect seasonal palette of warm yellows, oranges, and reds. Coopers Hall itself added a warm, inviting energy, with the wooden wine barrels, natural light, and overall coziness of the space tying everything together in a really beautiful, fall-inspired way.
Moments of Celebration and Stillness
One of the things that made Deisy and Ethan’s day so special was how it moved between big, celebratory moments with their people and quieter ones with just the two of them (and sometimes their son). They had a larger wedding surrounded by all their favorite people, and really got to soak it time with their guests during cocktail hour, dinner, and a lively dance party later that night.
But, they also carved out a moment just for the two of them after signing their marriage license to step away and take it all in. It was a calm, quiet pause in the middle of everything, and a really sweet space where they got to slow down and be present in it all.
Incorporating Film Photos Into Their Coopers Hall Wedding
Deisy and Ethan wanted to include film photos throughout their Coopers Hall wedding, and I’m so glad that they chose to do so. It added a timeless, vintage feel to their gallery and gave them another way to document all the little in-between moments from the day. Plus, there’s just something really special about film. It captures everything in a more natural, unfinished way and leans into the essence of the moment.
If you want to learn more about why film can be such a meaningful addition to your wedding day, I have a whole blog diving into it, which you can read here!

Coopers Hall Wedding Venue Highlights
Photographing Deisy and Ethan’s Coopers Hall wedding was actually my first time at the venue, but I already know it won’t be my last. There’s just so much to love about this space, so here are a few reasons it stands out.
The Unique Character of Coopers Hall
Once an auto body shop in its past life, Coopers Hall still holds onto a lot of that mid-century character. The space has two-story ceilings that bring in tons of natural light, along with plenty of greenery that adds a fresh, natural feel throughout. And as an urban winery, there’s also a full wall of wine barrels that adds tons of warmth and texture to the space.
A Flexible Venue for Every Celebration
No matter the size of your wedding, Coopers Hall can be designed around your needs. If you’re planning a micro wedding, the Mezzanine on the second floor is a great space that can accommodate up to 48 people. Thanks to the overhead skylights, the whole space is filled with natural light, and it’s separated from everything on the first floor.
For larger gatherings of up to 70 seated (or 80 standing), the Barrel Room is a great semi-private space filled with greenery and a beautiful wall of wine barrels. And if you’re planning a bigger celebration like Deisy and Ethan, you can rent out the entire property, which accommodates up to 168 seated or 225 standing.
A Central and Convenient Portland Wedding Venue
Located in Southeast Portland, Coopers Hall is not only an urban oasis, but also a convenient location, especially for out-of-town guests. In fact, it’s only about a 20-minute drive from Portland International Airport. Plus, being right in the city means you’re never short on lodging options, great restaurants, and the unique Portland energy.
Portland is full of incredible wedding venues, and I’ve actually put together a blog with some of my favorites that you can explore!
Deisy and Ethan’s wedding was full of so many intentional moments, deep family connections, and plenty of celebration. I also truly enjoyed getting to explore Coopers Hall as a wedding venue. It’s such a special place, and I can’t wait to come back and document another wedding there.
