17 Best Wedding Venues in Oregon (2026 Guide)

newlyweds kissing on a terrace at The Griffin House.

If you’ve started looking for wedding venues in Oregon, well, let me just start by saying you’ve chosen an amazing state! From the energy of Portland to the charm of wine country and the sweeping views of the Columbia River Gorge, there a lot of incredible venue options. Each offers a completely different experience, which can make choosing the right venue feel a little overwhelming.

As a wedding photographer who is based in Oregon, I’ve had the chance to explore and photograph venues all across the state. While there are plenty of amazing places to get married, I’ve rounded up some of my favorites to help you find one that fits the vibe and experience you’re looking for.

But before you start touring venues, it can help to think about the overall experience you want to create. Maybe you’re drawn to the rugged Oregon Coast, the vineyards of the Willamette Valley, or the dramatic scenery of Central Oregon. Narrowing down the region first can make the rest of your search feel much more manageable.

From there, you can start thinking through the details like guest count, amenities, accessibility, and the overall vibe you’re looking for. This blog covers all of that, so if you’re ready to find an Oregon wedding venue that feels like you, keep reading.

How to Choose the Right Oregon Wedding Venue for You

Once you’ve narrowed down the region that feels like the best fit, you’ll want to spend a bit of time thinking about what you want your wedding day to actually look and feel like. Maybe you’re dreaming of a big celebration with everyone you love, or maybe you’re envisioning a more intimate wedding with room for a little adventure. There’s no right or wrong way to celebrate, but having a clear vision for your day will make it much easier to find a venue that fits.

Next comes the practical details. Guest count, lodging, accessibility, catering, and getting-ready spaces can all make a big difference depending on the experience you want to create. This is where you may want to make a list of priorities and narrow down your venue options based on the one(s) that check the boxes that matter most to you.

And speaking of priorities, as an Oregon wedding photographer, I also encourage couples to think about their photography priorities. If sunset portraits are high on your list, consider the views and lighting around your venue. Maybe you’re excited about getting-ready photos. That’s a sign to pay attention to what those spaces you’ll be using look and feel like during your venue tour.

If you’re working with a wedding planner, this is often where they can help guide you. But, I’m always happy to chat through options and help my couples think through these details to find a venue that fits their vision.

For more help narrowing down your options, check out my guide on How to Choose a Wedding Venue.

Best Wedding Venues in Portland, Oregon

It only makes sense to start this list with Portland. As the largest city in Oregon, it’s filled with many incredible wedding venues that capture both the buzz of the city and the charm of the PNW. Here are a few that I (and my couples) love.

Blockhouse PDX

Blockhouse PDX is one of the wedding venues in Portland that I find myself coming back to again and again. Tucked into the Slabtown neighborhood, it has the energy of the city while feeling like a quiet greenhouse escape. The space itself is actually located inside Pomarius Nursery, which is filled with lush greenery and beautiful natural light that makes the space feel inviting in every season, even during the winter. If you love the idea of combining an urban setting with a nature-inspired atmosphere, this venue is hard to beat.

  • Location: 1988 Northwest 18th Avenue, Portland, OR
  • Capacity: 120 Guests

Leach Botanical Garden

Leach Botanical Garden is one of Portland’s hidden gems, located just 20 minutes from downtown. It features a beautiful patio perfect for ceremonies, peaceful forest trails, and countless photo locations throughout the property. I love how it feels tucked away from the city, almost like you’ve stumbled onto a private estate in the woods, while still being incredibly convenient for you and your guests.

  • Location: 6704 SE 122nd Ave, Portland, OR 97236
  • Capacity: 80 Guests

Coopers Hall

Coopers Hall is one of the newest venues I’ve photographed, but it didn’t take long to become one of my favorites. After documenting Deisy and Ethan’s wedding here, I immediately knew I’d love coming back. As a former auto body shop turned urban winery, it has soaring ceilings, beautiful natural light, and a wall of wine barrels that gives the space lots of unique character. I also love how flexible it is, with multiple event spaces that can accommodate everything from intimate weddings to celebrations with up to 168 guests. Plus, it’s only about 20 minutes from Portland International Airport, making it an easy choice for couples with out-of-town guests.

  • Location: 404 SE 6th Ave, Portland, OR 97214
  • Capacity: 168 Guests

Best Wedding Venues in the Columbia River Gorge

Just an hour east of Portland, the Columbia River Gorge is one of my absolute favorite places in Oregon. The combination of forests, mountains, and the Columbia River creates a landscape that feels unlike anywhere else, so it’s probably no surprise that some of the state’s best wedding venues are here. Here are a few of my favorites.

Gorge Crest Vineyards

Technically, Gorge Crest Vineyards is in Washington, but it’s only about 15 minutes from Hood River, making it a great option if you’re planning an Oregon wedding. Between the panoramic views of Mount Hood, the rolling vineyards, and the wildflowers in the warmer months, it’s hard to find a bad view here. Even the getting-ready spaces overlook the Gorge, so you’re surrounded by incredible scenery from the beginning of the day to the very end. If you’re looking for a winery venue that feels relaxed while still offering some of the best views in the Gorge, this one is definitely worth considering.

The Griffin House

If you’re looking for a venue that blends timeless elegance with some of the best views in the Columbia River Gorge, The Griffin House is hard to beat. I think it’s so cool that this 120-year-old home is filled with thoughtfully curated vintage details that give it a ton of character without feeling overdone. Perched high above the Columbia River, the ceremony space overlooks the Gorge, creating an incredible backdrop for your vows, especially at sunset. From the getting-ready spaces to the views throughout the property, every part of the venue feels intentional and beautiful.

Wind Mountain Ranch

Love the Columbia River Gorge but want something a little more rustic? Then Wind Mountain Ranch is my recommendation. Owned by the same team as The Griffin House, this 22-acre property features open meadows, wooded trails, and incredible sunset views over the Gorge. One of my favorite things about the venue is that it also has seven cabins on-site, making it easy to turn your wedding into a full weekend experience with your favorite people. It has that perfect balance of feeling tucked away in nature while still being comfortable and welcoming.

  • Location: 192 Erickson Rd, Stevenson, WA
  • Capacity: 200 guests

Best Wedding Venues on the Oregon Coast

If you’re looking for something along the coast and full of the moody atmosphere that the PNW is known for, then the Oregon Coast’s dramatic cliffs, sandy beaches, and sea stacks might be for you. You’ll find many incredible Oregon wedding venues along the coast that showcase the beauty of this rugged landscape.

Crook Point

Crook Point is perched above the Pacific Ocean, with dramatic coastal views as its main highlight. With multiple ceremony spaces to choose from, you can go big on the 300-person Arch Rock Main Lawn or keep things more intimate at Byrdies Beach Lawn.

One of my favorite things about Crook Point is that it also offers on-site lodging, with eight oceanfront homes that can accommodate 44 to 63 guests. This makes it a great option for couples who want a full weekend experience with their favorite people, or for those planning an elopement in the nearby state parks and protected coastal areas like Oregon Islands National Wildlife Refuge or Arch Rock State Park.

  • Location: 23368 Arch Rock Pl, Gold Beach, OR
  • Capacity: 300 guests
  • Pet-Friendly: yes

Heceta Head Lighthouse

If you’re dreaming of a wedding that feels like classic coastal Oregon, you’ll want to have Heceta Head Lighthouse high on your list. Dating back to 1894, this historic lighthouse sits 250 feet above the coastline and offers incredible ocean views, with nearby forests adding even more variety for photos.

One of the things I love about this location is that it’s beautiful in every kind of weather. Rain, fog, and overcast skies only add to that moody PNW coastal feeling. The Keeper’s House gives you a cozy place to get ready or stay overnight with your closest people, while the surrounding landscape creates endless opportunities to explore and take photos.

  • Location: 92072 Hwy 101 South, Yachats, OR
  • Capacity: 150 guests
  • Pet-Friendly: yes

The Ruins at the Astor

The Ruins at the Astor is a truly one-of-a-kind wedding venue along the Oregon coast that’s perfect if you’re looking for something a little different. Originally an old hotel, this Astoria venue has a weathered, historic feel, complete with a decaying façade and moody atmosphere, which creates a really cool backdrop that I’ve never seen before for couples who want something outside the traditional wedding venue experience.

If you reserve the mezzanine, you can also get access to some really unique photo opportunities inside the building (trust me, it’s a fun one to photograph). Then, just steps away, the Astoria waterfront gives you the perfect spot for sunset portraits with the Columbia River and Pacific Ocean nearby.

  • Location: 1425 Commercial St, Astoria, OR
  • Capacity: 250 guests
  • Pet-Friendly: yes

Best Wedding Venues in the Willamette Valley

If a vineyard wedding is part of your vision, the Willamette Valley is a treasure trove of possibilities, offering rolling hills, manicured vineyards, and timeless charm. Here are a few of the very best.

Ponzi Vineyards

It’s hard to believe Ponzi Vineyards is only about 20 miles from downtown Portland. Located in the Chehalem Mountains, this winery offers beautiful views of the Willamette Valley, especially when the sun starts setting over the vineyards.

The Laurelwood event space blends modern architecture with the property’s rustic winery roots, creating a space that feels both polished and welcoming. You’ll also have access to wine tastings, tours, and a team that can help create the perfect wine pairings for your day. If you’re looking for a winery wedding that feels elevated without losing that relaxed Oregon feel, Ponzi Vineyards is a great choice.

  • Location: 19500 SW Mountain Home Rd, Sherwood, OR
  • Capacity: 50 guests
  • Pet-Friendly: Contact venue for details

Amaterra Winery

Located in Portland’s West Hills at the edge of the Willamette Valley, Amaterra Winery gives you both the convenience of the city and the feeling of being tucked away in wine country. The property offers incredible views stretching toward the Coast Range, along with indoor and outdoor spaces that can accommodate up to 200 guests.

One thing that stands out to me about Amaterra is how customizable the experience is. They work with couples to create personalized wine, beer, and cocktail menus, adding another thoughtful touch that makes the day feel uniquely theirs.

  • Location: 8150 SW Swede Hl Dr, Portland, OR
  • Capacity: 200
  • Pet-Friendly: No

Furioso Vineyards

Furioso Vineyards is one of the most design-forward winery wedding venues in Oregon. With its modern architecture, manicured vineyards, and sweeping Willamette Valley views, every part of the property feels thoughtfully designed.

One of my favorite things about Furioso is how many beautiful, intentional spaces there are for photos. The vineyards create a romantic backdrop, while the architecture adds a more modern feel that makes the venue stand out from other winery spaces. Since they host a limited number of weddings each year, you’ll want to reach out early if this venue is on your list.

Chateau de Michellia

Ever dreamed of getting married in a European villa without leaving the PNW? Chateau de Michellia gives you exactly that feeling. Located just outside Salem, this venue feels like it was pulled straight from the countryside of Europe, with classic architecture, elegant details, and a timeless atmosphere.

While the home is beautiful, the grounds are what really make this venue special. Between the European-inspired rose garden, the Castle Overlook lawn (perfect for outdoor dining), and the grand courtyard for more intimate celebrations, there are so many unique places to explore throughout the day.

One thing to keep in mind is that Chateau de Michellia only hosts a limited number of weddings each year, so you’ll want to reach out early. They also offer private photo sessions, which is such a fun option if you want to experience the beauty of the property without hosting your full wedding there.

Best Wedding Venues in Central Oregon

Central Oregon is known to be the sunnier part of the state and it’s filled with beauty. If this sounds like a destination you’d prefer, consider choosing one of the Oregon wedding venues in this region.

Brasada Ranch

Located about 20 miles east of Bend, Brasada Ranch captures everything that makes Oregon’s high desert so special. With rustic architecture, expansive lawns, and even a trestle bridge, there are so many different ways to bring your wedding vision to life while taking in views of the Cascade Mountains in the distance.

One of my favorite things about Brasada Ranch is the variety of photo backdrops throughout the property. From the open desert landscapes and mountain views to the western-inspired details around the ranch, there are so many different settings to explore throughout the day.

I got to document Rebecca and David’s wedding here, and it was such a fun experience exploring everything the property has to offer. I already can’t wait to come back for another wedding at Brasada Ranch.

Best Desert Wedding Venues in Oregon

Yes, Oregon has a desert, and it might just be one of the most unexpected places to get married in the state. If you’re looking for something a little different from the classic Oregon wedding scenery, or want a slightly more adventurous feel for your day, the high desert could be for you. Here are a few of my favorite desert wedding locations in Oregon.

Smith Rock State Park

Smith Rock State Park is the perfect wedding or elopement venue if you’re looking for tall cliffs, deep valleys, and natural beauty all around. With plenty of hiking trails and nearly endless views, you’ll have incredible backdrops for all of your photos. The North Point Amphitheater accommodates up to 50 guests, making it perfect for a more intimate celebration. If you’re a rock climbing enthusiast, you will also find this venue particularly fitting for a truly personal, adventurous wedding day.

Painted Hills

Painted Hills feels like you’ve been transported to another planet, and I honestly have never seen anywhere else like it. The colorful, rust-toned rock formations and the surrounding Central Oregon landscape create a backdrop that feels completely one-of-a-kind.

For smaller celebrations and elopements, ceremonies can take place at the Painted Hills Overlook Trail, with the park’s iconic formations as your backdrop. For larger celebrations, the grassy Painted Hills Picnic Area can accommodate up to 50 guests. Either way, this is such a special location for couples who want a wedding day that feels a little more unexpected.

Alvord Desert

The Alvord Desert is a place that instantly feels like you’re far away from everything. Located about an hour south of Fields, the nearest town, this is definitely a destination where you’ll want to plan ahead since amenities are very limited. But that remoteness is also what makes it so special.

The playa, or dried lake bed, feels almost otherworldly, with endless views stretching in every direction and Steens Mountain towering in the distance. Plus, with nearby hot springs, you can even add a relaxing soak to your adventure. I got to document Leah and Kevin’s elopement here, and it’s the perfect example of what a wedding day in the Alvord Desert can look like.

Frequently Asked Questions about Wedding Venues in Oregon

What is the best month to get married in Oregon?

One of my favorite things about getting married in Oregon is that every season brings something different to the table. There’s really no bad time to get married here, but the best month for you will depend on the kind of experience you’re hoping for.

If you’re dreaming of warmer weather and the best chance of sunshine, summer is usually the safest choice. This is especially true for areas like Portland, the Columbia River Gorge, and the Willamette Valley, where you’ll get those long summer evenings and beautiful outdoor conditions.

Fall is one of my favorite times in Oregon, especially if you’re looking for color and a little more atmosphere. The Columbia River Gorge is especially beautiful this time of year, while the Oregon Coast can also be a great option with fewer crowds and milder weather.

And if you love moody PNW weather, dramatic ocean views, and the feeling of having the landscape all to yourself, the Oregon Coast is incredible during winter. Central Oregon and the desert can also be beautiful during this season, especially compared to the hotter summer months.

Spring can be a little unpredictable, with a mix of rain and sunshine, but it also brings some of the best natural scenery. Wildflowers start blooming, waterfalls are flowing, and the Columbia River Gorge is especially beautiful this time of year.

How far in advance should you book an Oregon wedding venue?

To have the best selection of Oregon wedding venues, I recommend starting your search around 12 to 18 months before your wedding date. This gives you the best chance of booking your top choices while still leaving room to explore other options if your first pick isn’t available.

If your dream venue is already booked, having that extra time also makes it easier to find another space with a similar feeling or choose a different date that works.

What are the most popular wedding venues in Oregon?

Some of the most popular Oregon wedding venues I’ve photographed or worked with include Blockhouse PDX in Portland, The Griffin House in the Columbia River Gorge, Heceta Head Lighthouse along the coast, and Ponzi Vineyards in the Willamette Valley.

If you have your heart set on one of these venues, I recommend reaching out early. Many of these spaces have limited availability, especially during the most popular wedding months.

Can you have an outdoor wedding in Oregon?

Yes! Oregon has so many incredible outdoor wedding venues, from vineyards and forests to coastlines and desert landscapes. The biggest thing to keep in mind is that rain is always a possibility here, so planning around the season and location can make a big difference.

What are the best Oregon wedding venues for couples who love nature?

Oregon is seriously an adventure couple’s paradise, but the best venue really depends on the type of landscape you’re drawn to.

For classic PNW scenery with forests, waterfalls, and lots of greenery, the Columbia River Gorge is my personal favorite. Venues like Wind Mountain Ranch and The Griffin House give you that iconic Oregon backdrop while still offering a beautiful wedding experience.

If you want something more dramatic, check out the Oregon Coast. Places like Crook Point and Heceta Head Lighthouse are perfect for couples who want ocean views, rugged landscapes, and the power of nature as part of their day.

And for something more unexpected, check out the Oregon desert. Locations like Alvord Desert and Painted Hills feel unlike anywhere else in the state and are perfect for couples looking for something adventurous and completely different.

Newlyweds hugging at sunset in the Columbia River Gorge.

And there you have it! There are so many incredible wedding venues in Oregon, each with its own unique charm that can add to your wedding day story. My hope is that this guide helps you find the Oregon wedding venue that feels right for your celebration, whether that’s along the rugged coast, tucked in the mountains, or right in the heart of the city.

If you’re dreaming of your Oregon wedding and still in search of a photographer, I’d love to be there to document your experience. Reach out and let’s plan together.
