Years Behind the Camera
When my husband got down on one knee and asked me that life-changing question you just answered a few weeks ago, he had no idea what he was in for. No, I don’t mean me! I mean the wedding itself.
Our “dream” wedding day was all planned out. And I mean All. Planned. Out! We were going to really do the thing—vendors were booked, the venue was set, and our final guest list topped out at 140. Then 2020 happened, and everything changed.
Like so many couples, we were faced with the challenges that came with a massive last-minute reschedule. But somewhere between back-and-forths with the caterer and the sixth backup date, we asked ourselves why we were really doing all this. Was this actually what we wanted? Was this actually our dream?
SPOILER ALERT: IT WASN’T!
What we actually wanted when we had the freedom to truly explore other options was a stripped-down ceremony that wasn’t so jam-packed we couldn’t find quiet moments alone. One that was as spontaneous and adventurous as we are. One that blended all things beautiful and wild, just like our whirlwind of a love story.
So, one magical August morning, I slipped into my wedding dress, shrugged on a jean jacket and my trusty hiking pack, and collected the kind of overflowing bouquet every bride’s dream is made of. Together, with a talented photographer, an officiant, and our dog in tow, we climbed Mt. Hood. There, we promised each other our forevers. And there, it all clicked: I knew what I wanted to spend my life doing.
I wanted to give other couples the joy we’d discovered.

FROM A PASSION
INTO A CAREER
Motivated by my husband and the encouraging snuggles of our dog Mona, I turned my lifelong passion into a career, becoming a Portland wedding and elopement photographer. I help eloping couples craft their days with ease, and I help couples planning more traditional weddings sprinkle the spirit of an elopement into their day!
Between summers on sailboats and snowed-in winters, my Wisconsin childhood prepared me for just about anything. So, as long as the spot is special to you and the light is flooding in, we can make magic with a camera.
When I’m not behind a camera, I’m probably out rock climbing with friends, 300 pages deep in a novel, crushing my husband in Mario Kart, or listening to a local band while enjoying a craft beer!
But enough about me; your story is the one I’m dying to tell! So, let’s get this adventure started!
