I recently had the opportunity to capture Nikola and Zach during their Blockhouse Portland wedding and it was seriously an unforgettable experience! Not only was their special day so magical and full of love, but I also got to revisit one of my favorite venues in Oregon. All About Nikola + Zach’s Absolutely Gorgeous Wedding

I’m seriously so obsessed with Nikola and Zach’s Blockhouse PDX wedding! The couple started their day getting ready at the Woodlark Hotel. Side note: if you plan on getting married in Portland, I can’t recommend this hotel enough! Located in the heart of the city, it makes for an absolutely gorgeous Oregon wedding venue with unmatched style and character. After an intimate and heartfelt private first look, I took Nikola and Zach into the streets of downtown Portland to take couples and wedding party photos.

Next was their wedding ceremony at Blockhouse PDX, which I am still not over! Getting to capture the moment they said “I do”, surrounded by their loved ones inside Pomarius Nursery’s gorgeous greenhouse makes my job so worth it. Once their ceremony was complete, I took the couple and their families out to the nursery to take more photos. Since their wedding was in May, the plants were seriously SHOWING OFF! Afterwards, everyone headed back to the greenhouse where Nikola and Zach enjoyed dinner with their guests followed by cake and their wedding first dance! It was the perfect way to cap off such a beautiful day.

I had so much fun shooting Nikola and Zach’s Blockhouse PDX wedding on digital, but especially on film! What Makes a Blockhouse PDX Wedding So Special

Located inside Pomarius Nursery in Portland’s Slabtown neighborhood, Blockhouse PDX is a unique and cozy venue that I can’t get enough of! It has a capacity of 60 people (120 if you add The Orangerie by Pomarius event space) and is perfect for an intimate wedding. While there are many reasons Blockhouse PDX is special, here are a few of the things I love the most.

Slice of Nature in the City

Blockhouse PDX is truly a slice of heaven in the middle of the city! With its high ceilings, large windows, and garden setting inside of a nursery, this venue will make you forget you’re in the middle of a major urban center.

Plants Bursting Everywhere

If you’re a plant lover, then you need to have a Blockhouse PDX wedding. There are tons of plants everywhere, both in and outside of the greenhouse, so you’ll never run out of gorgeous scenery and lush photo backdrops!

Top Notch Service

Not only is Blockhouse PDX a beautiful venue, but its service is also impressive! Your fee includes the use of their chef-inspired open kitchen, as well as chairs, tables, a wooden bar, and gorgeous bisto lighting. They also will take care of the setup and tear down of their equipment, and have a Blockhouse PDX member on site for the entire wedding just in case you need anything!

Nikola and Zach were absolute rockstars and I’m so glad I got to capture their Blockhouse PDX wedding!
