Taylor and Andrew’s Ironlight wedding in Lake Oswego was one of the most fun-filled and unique weddings I’ve ever photographed. Not only is this couple super sweet, but their attention to detail made for a truly unique wedding day. Keep reading to learn about some of the fun details they incorporated into their Ironlight Lake Oswego wedding.
Meet Taylor + Andrew
The first time I met Taylor and Andrew was for their engagement photos on the Oregon Coast. This was the perfect engagement photo location for them as both Taylor and Andrew had spent many years exploring this part of Oregon (first individually and then together as a couple).
The Oregon Coast was also the place were Andrew proposed to Taylor. He rented a coastal cottage in Cannon Beach where he planned a holiday photo session (code for engagement photos) and proposed to Taylor in the backyard of the cottage with the ocean waves lapping the shore behind them.
Taylor + Andrew’s Fun-Filled Ironlight Wedding Day
An Emotional First Look
Taylor and Andrew’s wedding day started at Ironlight with the couple getting ready separately. Taylor’s mom helped her get into her dress which was a really special moment for the two of them.
Once they had each finished getting ready we made our way over to a nearby park where the couple shared their first look. When I tell you this was one of the sweetest first looks I have ever photographed, I am not kidding. Andrew could not hold it together which made for a really sweet and emotional moment.
After their first look, the couple shared private vows which added to the emotions they were already experiencing. One of the things I loved about this moment was that they used it as a sort of warm-up for their ceremony. They read their private vows to each other during their first look then read them again later in the day. It was the perfect way to get out all the jitters and ease into the day.
We spent a few more minutes in the park wandering around and taking fun photos of just the couple before their wedding party joined them. After photos, we all headed back to the venue for their sweet ceremony complete with stunning florals (shoutout to Scarlet Blooms) and an incredible view of Mt. Hood in the background.
Epic Cocktail Hour with Tattoos and a Confetti Canyon
Taylor and Andrew’s cocktail hour reception was one of the biggest highlights of their Ironlight wedding! The couple hired a tattoo artist (One Eyed Jon) to tattoo them and their guests after the ceremony. Taylor and Andrew were the first to get tattooed and they each chose the letter “W” (for their last name) on their ring fingers. It was such an epic moment and a wedding detail that their guests really loved!
Once Taylor and Andrew were freshly inked, they made a grand entrance into their wedding reception and shared a first dance followed by dinner and speeches. I snuck them out a little later in the evening for a few sunset photos before they rejoined their guests for cake cutting (topped with a cake topper from their parent’s wedding) and a party on the dance floor (complete with a confetti canyon!).
I am still not over Taylor and Andrew’s incredible Ironlight wedding! From sweet, emotional moments with the couple to epic wedding activities and details, this Lake Oswego wedding was one for the books.
