Kat and Jon first met while working in the wine industry after they both moved to the Pacific Northwest. As their love for each other grew, so did their bond with the wild beauty of the region. These days, the PNW is their home, and they love hopping in the car with their dog, Hera, and heading to the coast or into the mountains. They’re always up for an adventure, whether it’s hiking, mushroom hunting, skiing, or simply soaking in the magic of a scenic view. And no matter where they go, they always make sure to pack post-adventure snacks!
Their Cape Kiwanda Engagement Story
Cape Kiwanda has been a very significant location all throughout Kat and Jon’s relationship. It was here, during their very first trip as a couple, where they first said “I love you.” Over time, it became a beloved getaway, whether for surf sessions, lazy beach days, or to grab a beer at a nearby Pacific City brewery.
The hike up to the dune holds a particularly special place in their hearts, as it’s the place where they went to celebrate life’s little wins: a new apartment or job, a birthday, or simply to reconnect with the beauty of the PNW. So it felt only right that Cape Kiwanda would also be the place where they got engaged.
