The Griffin House Venue Spotlight

A couple kissing with the Columbia River Gorge in the background.

I’ve been a wedding photographer for over three years, so you can trust me when I say that The Griffin House is a truly one-of-a-kind venue! Not only is there so much history and ageless charm, but it also features unparalleled views of the Columbia River Gorge! All in all, it’s a venue that I NEEDED to highlight. Keep reading to learn more about my favorite things about The Griffin House, plus my favorite places to photograph couples in the Columbia River Gorge!

The Griffin House: What I Love

The Griffin House is such a charming wedding venue that’s perfect for anyone looking for a vintage property with unbeatable views! It’s 120 years old with TONS of history and has a capacity of 175 guests. Here are some of the things I love about it!

Timeless Elegance

A farm and speakeasy in previous lives, The Griffin House is now a beautiful vintage wedding venue with the luxuries of a modern, renovated home. The grounds also feature beautifully manicured lawns and elegant stone terraces that will make your jaw drop. If you choose, you have the option to access their Private Furniture Collection, which has pieces like sheepskin, Moroccan rugs, and other vintage furnishings. The cherry on top is that the venue is yours for the entire day!

Endless Columbia River Gorge Views

The Griffin House offers seriously the most picturesque views of the Columbia River gorge! Step foot on the property and you’ll be immediately transported from your everyday life and into a scene straight from a movie. And the best part is that wedding ceremonies are held cliffside for the best vistas on the entire property!

Top-Notch Service

The Griffin House will start working with you from day one to ensure that your wedding vision comes to life! They provide a wedding coordinator, who will work with you and your wedding planner to ensure that your big day flows exactly as planned. They also help manage your vendors and handle the setup and tear down so you can focus solely on getting married! The staff is extremely friendly, communicative, and are so excited for you to celebrate your wedding day!

My Favorite Columbia River Gorge Photo Locations

Only an hour outside of Portland, the Columbia River Gorge is seriously one of the most beautiful and picturesque places in the entire state! Whether you’re planning on having your wedding at The Griffin House or just looking to explore this National Scenic Area, it’s perfect for any occasion. Here are my favorite photo locations in the gorge!

Latourell Falls

Latourell Falls is one of my favorite places to photograph couples in the Columbia River Gorge! It features an absolutely stunning 249-foot waterfall and is easily accessible in every season. I especially love it in the winter for moody Pacific Northwest photos. Check out my blog below to learn more about an engagement session I captured here!

Government Cove

Located right off Highway 30, Government Cove is another very accessible and gorgeous viewpoint! It boasts clear views of rocky cliffs, the Columbia River, and the Cascades for an absolutely stunning backdrop. In fact, I recently captured the cutest engagement session here! You can read all about it below.

Rowena Crest

Rowena Crest is a gorgeous viewpoint that will give you stunning expansive views of the Columbia River Gorge. What makes it truly special though is the highway cutting through the landscape, adding a unique horseshoe bend to the scene! While it’s unfortunately not the most accessible, if you’re comfortable with a little hiking then you HAVE to check out Rowena Crest!

The Griffin House is THE place if you’re looking for a historic venue with incredible views. And for more of my favorite places to get married, check out my Top Wedding Venues in Oregon!
