This colorful Cascade Locks wedding was filled with so much personality! After having to postpone their wedding, Erin and Adam were looking forward to celebrating their marriage on the beautiful shores of the Columbia River. Keep reading to see some of the fun and gorgeous elements they implemented for a truly unique wedding!
Meet Erin + Adam: The Stars of this Cascade Locks Wedding
Not all engagement stories are a grand surprise. Sometimes, they are carefully thought out and planned for by both partners.
Erin and Adam got engaged shortly after working with the designers at Betsy & Iya to design Erin’s custom engagement ring. While the proposal wasn’t a surprise, it was none the less beautiful! The couple rented a cabin at Loloma Lodge, a historic Oregon lodging space and event venue. During their time at the cabin, they went on snowy hikes and committed to building a life together (with their sweet adopted pitt, Maya, as their witness!)
When Erin and Adam first inquired, they told me the vision for their Cascade Locks wedding was low-key, non-traditional, and festive. They were excited to be able to reunite with loved ones after so much time apart (thanks to COVID). Their wedding would also provide another reason for celebration as the date would land around their soon-to-be-born daughter’s first birthday!
Erin + Adam’s Colorful Wedding with Unique Details
Erin and Adam’s wedding was so unique and beautiful. The couple chose to hold an outdoor wedding on Thunder Island in Cascade Locks, Oregon. The location, which is located along the Columbia River Gorge, provides sweeping views of Bridge of the Gods with Table Mountain rising behind.
The couple kicked off their day by getting ready at the venue’s old historic house. Afterwards, they had their wedding first look along the banks of the Columbia River. Erin wore a colorful, non-traditional wedding dress by Mara Hoffman. The dress featured abstract patterns in varying shades of orange and blue, and was one of the most fun and unique wedding dresses I have ever photographed. I love when couples choose a unique wedding outfit that represents their true personalities!
After the couple’s first look, they also shared a first look with their daughter, Hazel, a sweet and touching moment for the family. We then ventured out for some couple portraits followed by pictures with the family and finally, their Cascade Locks wedding ceremony.
The evening concluded with a cocktail hour and reception at the pavilion where Erin and Adam danced the night away with loved ones. At one point during the dancing, Adam’s biker friends changed into their biking outfits and hoisted him up in the middle of the dance floor!
Erin and Adam’s colorful Cascade Locks wedding was not only fun, but also showcased the couple’s unique personalities. If you’re considering including non-traditional wedding details in your day, take this as your sign to DO IT!
