The Woodlands House Venue Spotlight

The newlyweds kissing in front on the greenhouse at the Woodlands House venue.

I recently had the opportunity to capture a styled wedding at The Woodlands House venue near Mt Hood and was blown away by how magical this location is. Keep reading to learn more about why I love this wedding venue, as well as Mt Hood photo locations that I’m obsessed with!

The Woodlands House Venue Highlights

I’m so excited to share The Woodlands House with you all! Located just 30 minutes from Mt Hood, this beautiful venue in the forest has a capacity of 75 people and is a great place for an intimate wedding ceremony. Here are just a few of my highlights of this place.

Intimate Connection to Nature

The Woodlands House venue is located in the middle of an old-growth forest, with absolutely majestic pines towering overhead and a small creek running through the property. The house also has two outdoor decks so you can soak up the serenity and natural beauty around you. And if you’re lucky, you might just spot a dear roaming the property! If your looking for a venue with an intimate connection to nature, then this is it.

Relax and Disconnect

The Woodlands House venue is seriously one of the most relaxing and peaceful wedding venues I’ve ever been to! It sits on five acres of forested land and is the perfect place for a stress-free wedding among the pines. And just in case you need anything not on-site, you’re only 10 minutes from the town of Sandy and 45 minutes from Portland, so you’re never too far from civilization.

Beautiful Home

Just because this venue is off the beaten path doesn’t mean that you can’t have a luxurious experience! It’s a gorgeous and unique blend of log cabin, mid-century modern, and Scandinavian architectural styles. In addition, this four-bedroom home sleeps eight and boasts gorgeous vaulted ceilings and a cozy fireplace on each level. Plus, there’s a six-person hot tub for you to enjoy! Wedding-specific amenities include a bridal suite and changing rooms onsite, as well as dining tables and chairs.

My Favorite Mt Hood Photo Locations

Mt Hood is the highest peak in Oregon and one of the state’s most picturesque places! It also happens to be located about an hour from The Woodlands House, making it the perfect location to explore for your elopement or wedding. Here are a few of my favorite nearby locations for photos featuring this iconic mountain.

Zigzag Canyon

Getting to Zigzag Canyon requires some hiking, but it’s absolutely worth it! You’ll get stunning alpine views of Mt Hood’s south side. And if you visit in the summer, expect to see wildflowers in full bloom!

Trillium Lake

Trillium Lake is one of Mt Hood’s most noteworthy locations, and for good reason! You’ll have gorgeous forest and lake views with Mt Hood towering in the distance. Visit at sunset for an even more incredible experience! Visit my blog to read about a snowy engagement session I shot here!

White River West Sno-Park

If you’re looking for a can’t-miss winter photo location, then you’ll HAVE to visit the White River West Sno-Park. Seeing the pine trees and Mt Hood covered in freshly fallen snow is something you won’t ever forget. There’s also plenty of opportunities for sledding, too!

I can’t say enough good things about The Woodlands House venue! If you haven’t already, I highly recommend checking out this Oregon wedding venue – you won’t regret it!
