Glacier National Park Elopement Shoot

This Glacier National Park elopement shoot is proof that you can take elopement photos anytime you want – not JUST on your actual wedding day! Though Tascha and Michael were already married, they wanted a day to celebrate their love while exchanging heartfelt vows and taking couple photos in Glacier National Park. It was seriously a blast capturing the couple in their wedding attire surrounded by some of the most gorgeous landscapes I’ve ever seen! Learn more about their experience and eloping in Glacier National Park below.

How Tascha and Michael Explored Glacier National Park

I had the best time exploring Glacier National Park with Tascha and Michael. Our first adventure in the park was driving along the iconic Going-to-the-Sun Road and, let me tell you, it lived up to the hype! The entire drive was seriously so gorgeous and we made multiple stops for pictures. At one of the stops, I even got to capture the moment they shared their private vows! Then in the afternoon, we headed to Lake McDonald for an intimate picnic. It was the dreamiest scene with the couple sitting on the lakeshore surrounded by rugged mountains! Finally, as the light was fading, I took some beautiful photos of the two of them holding lanterns. It honestly was a day I won’t ever forget!

Advice for your Glacier National Park Elopement

Imagine tying the knot surrounded by crystal-clear lakes, towering mountain peaks, and evergreen forests. With a Glacier National Park elopement, you can have this epic experience at a fraction of the cost of a traditional wedding! Here are a few of my tips to get you started.

Apply for a Special Use Permit

Special Use Permits are required to elope in Glacier National Park. Luckily, the application process is super straightforward and the best part is that it’s only $125! Be sure to apply early to get your preferred date and ceremony location.

Where To Elope

There are several designated areas in the park where you can have your elopement ceremony. A few of my favorites are Big Bend, Ryan Beach, and Two Medicine Lake. But no matter where you choose, your views will be absolutely breathtaking!

Time of Day

I recommend having your Glacier National Park elopement at sunrise or sunset. That way, there will be fewer people around (especially at sunrise) and the wildlife will be more active. Plus, you’ll have some seriously stunning photos in the golden hour light!

I just want to relive Tascha and Michael’s Glacier National Park elopement shoot over and over again! For more in-depth elopement advice, check out my latest blog on How to Elope in Washington.
