Heartwarming Wedding at Skamania Lodge

The newlyweds walking through a grassy field with the Columbia River in the background.

It was such a dream to capture Jordyn and Wyatt’s Skamania Lodge wedding! (Fun fact: I actually had my own wedding here, so this was extra special and a real full-circle moment for me!) Because these two both work in the military, they’ve had to endure years stationed at different locations. Luckily, they are now in the same place, but their extended time apart taught them to make the most of their moments together, and their special day was no exception! To learn more about their amazing wedding and gorgeous venue, read on.

The Rundown of Jordyn and Wyatt’s Wedding Day

To kick off their wedding day, Jordyn got ready in the lodge while Wyatt was out in one of the tree houses (more on Skamania Lodge’s accommodations later). They then had their first look, as well as wedding and family photos, out on the lawn with panoramic views of the Columbia River Gorge in the background. It was absolutely magical!

A heartwarming ceremony and cocktail hour followed, with a seriously impressive choreographed first dance to boot! Around sunset, the weather became very moody, but I was still able to capture some epic photos of the newlyweds. They capped off the night dancing and having fun in the pavilion!

Skamania Lodge: One of the Best Wedding Venues in the PNW

I’ve been to plenty of wedding venues as a PNW-based wedding photographer. And let me tell you, there’s a reason why I chose to get married at Skamania Lodge! Below are just a few of my favorite things about this magical place.

Accommodations for Days

In terms of accommodations, Skamania Lodge is hard to beat. Their outdoor venues include a gorgeous amphitheater for ceremonies and two pavilions with unbeatable views of the surrounding nature. In case of inclement weather, they have a beautiful atrium, reception hall, and ballroom. And of course, there are fun tree houses and other lodging for you to get ready in!

Connected to Nature

Skamania Lodge sits in the heart of the Columbia River Gorge and is perfect for those wanting to feel close to nature on their wedding day. Imagine tying the knot surrounded by picturesque cliffs and ridges, with the Columbia River and the Cascades painting your backdrop!

Perfect for Any Size

Whether you want an intimate wedding or a large celebration, Skamania Lodge has got you covered. They can accommodate as few as 30 guests up to parties as large as 400. Plus, they host weddings all year long, even in the winter!

Thank you Jordyn and Wyatt for letting me play a small part in your beautiful wedding! For more of my favorite wedding venues, check out my blog on the Top 10 Wedding Venues in Oregon. And if you’re curious about eloping, check out my guide on How to Elope in Oregon!
