I am absolutely OBSESSED with the Oregon Coast! With its pristine beaches and towering sea stacks, I just simply can’t get enough! It’s safe to say that I had a blast shooting Hannah & Shane’s Cannon Beach elopement. Keep reading for a little view into their special day.
How Hannah + Shane Decided on the Cannon Beach Elopement of Their Dreams
Beaches and ocean water hold a special place in Hannah and Shane’s hearts. The couple first got engaged in March 2022 on the Maryland Coast, a place that Shane had visited often growing up. However, after popping the question, that location now became an unforgettable location for both of them!
One year after their engagement, the couple decided to elope and chose the exact day Shane proposed at the beach. How romantic! This time though, they chose to travel to Cannon Beach in Oregon, hoping for a gorgeous sunset over the Pacific Ocean while the sea fog rolled in. (Spoiler alert: their fairytale came true!)
An Overview of Hannah + Shane’s Magical Day
Hannah & Shane traveled all the way from Kansas City, Missouri to elope along the Oregon Coast. They started their day in Portland, exploring the city and thrifting a rad Pendleton blanket that they would use later in the day.
We then headed to Cannon Beach for their elopement ceremony but when we arrived we saw some unexpected sneaker waves at our first spot, so we pivoted last minute to a new location. I always tell my couples that it’s important to be super flexible when planning your elopement, and remember that last-minute changes often lead to beautiful and unforgettable moments! At their new location Hannah and Shane shared gorgeous handwritten vows before signing their marriage license with my husband and me as witnesses!
We all headed to town for a bit to visit Pelican Brewery and grab some beers before checking out the iconic Haystack Rock. With beautiful sunset colors reflecting off the Pacific Ocean, Hannah & Shane enjoyed their first dance. Talk about dreamy! As the light was fading, they pulled out their Pendleton blanket and shared a drink before taking some blue hour lantern shots. It was the perfect ending to a magical day!
