Jodi and David’s love story is as unique and beautiful as they are! They both love the ocean, so they decided to take their engagement photos on the central Oregon Coast’s Cape Perpetua. Keep reading to learn how these two fell in love and see more from their Oregon Coast engagement photos.
A Peek Into Jodi + David’s Surprise Destination Engagement Story
One thing to know about David is that he loves scuba diving! He had dreamed of taking trips around the world to go on dives and wanted it to be something that he and Jodi could experience together as a couple.
One day, about a year into their relationship, he convinced Jodi to get her scuba diver certification. Mind you, Jodi is deathly afraid of two things: being in the open water and sharks. Her love for David overtook her fears though and she got the certification anyway.
Soon after, the two planned a trip to Cozumel, Mexico to go on a dive. It was an incredible first dive experience for Jodi! She was overjoyed to be able to tackle her fears alongside the person she loved and had a blast doing it!
Three years after that epic vacation, David pulled off the most romantic surprise proposal…on Jodi’s birthday, no less! The proposal included both of Jodi’s sisters (both from out of state) and took place at a beautiful Arizona resort with candles and roses all around. It was an impressive feat considering it took place in an area where none of them lived.
Moody Oregon Coast Engagement Photos at Cape Perpetua
For their Oregon Coast engagement photos, the couple chose Cape Perpetua for the location. Because they share a love of the water, David and Jodi wanted a coastline location that had a lot of history and uniqueness, and let me tell you, Cape Perpetua definitely delivered!
The cape is located on the central Oregon coast near the town of Yachats. It is Oregon’s largest marine reserve, so there is much nature and wildlife to see in this beautiful section of the coast. Cape Perpetua is surrounded by dozens of hiking trails and is filled with tidepools. It’s also a great place for whale watching and the sunsets here are hard to beat. Cape Perpetua is one of my favorite places for engagement photos as it has so much to offer!
These two lovebirds will be getting married in Cancun at the end of 2023. That location is a place they really were able to grow together as a couple and they are looking forward to sharing their vows in the place that means so much to them alongside all the people they love. I can’t wait to celebrate with Jodi and David at their Mexico destination wedding later this year! Stay tuned for more photos from this beautiful couple.
