Rachel and Casey reached out to me to inquire about taking both their Seattle engagement photos and their wedding photos. The couple, who was referred to me by a former client, wanted an outdoor engagement session and chose Discovery Park. It’s always awesome when I get to connect with an amazing couple but what makes meeting them even more special is when they’re referred to me through someone I’ve worked with in the past.
Rachel and Casey enjoy spending time hiking and being outdoors, but they also love a good movie night at home. Their wedding will take place in Spokane, Washington next summer and I can’t wait to share more. But for now, keep reading to learn why Discovery Park makes for a great engagement session location.
Why Discovery Park, Seattle Is Great for Your Engagement Photo Session
When it comes to locations for outdoor engagement photos, Seattle is filled with so many amazing options! One of my favorite spots though has to be Discovery Park. Located a few miles north of downtown Seattle, Discovery Park is a 534-acre park on the shores of Puget Sound. It has a beautiful, tall grass meadow that overlooks the water, and its many trails offer some of the most beautiful views of the Olympic Mountains in the background. Some parts of the trails are filled with trees so you can even get some magical forest vibes. Other parts of the park even offer a beach with a lighthouse so you truly can experience so many different sceneries at this Seattle gem.
Summertime is especially beautiful in the PNW and this is definitely when the park becomes more alive. Depending on the time of year you visit, you may get to experience the beautiful wildflowers that grow here.
