This summer I got to meet Hailee and Eddie and take their moody, unique engagement photos at Mt Hood. The couple, who just held their natural, PNW-themed wedding this fall, wanted their engagement session to have the same vibes. We chose a beautiful location surrounded by nature where they could relax and have fun doing some of the things they love most.
Hailee and Eddie’s Engagement Story
Hailee and Eddy got engaged in San Francisco while visiting with some of Eddy’s family. They planned a day trip with a few of Eddie’s aunts and one of the stops on their list was the Palace of Fine Arts. When they got to the spot Eddie climbed up on some rocks for a better viewpoint and Hailee, oblivious to what was taking place, followed. Eddie got down on one knee and asked “Do you love me?” Hailee’s grandpa used that exact phrase when he proposed to her grandma. Hailee responded “YES! Are you going to put that ring on me!?” The couple celebrated by popping champagne with Eddie’s aunts who had caught the whole thing on video.
Moody, Unique Engagement Photos at Mt Hood
Hailee and Eddie’s engagement session was super fun and shows all of the unique things that you can incorporate into an engagement session to make it personalized. The couple chose Mt Hood as their location so they could be surrounded by beauty and nature as well as find a secluded place where their dog Freyja could join without having the stress of other people around.
Unfortunately, mother nature had other plans and their session was a bit rainy which brought clouds that covered Mt Hood. Hailee and Eddie didn’t let the weather dampen the vibes and still brought tons of energy to their session.
We kicked off the session with a champagne pop to celebrate. Hailee brought a photo of her dog Chico that had passed away and it was such a sweet memento to honor his memory.
Hailee and Eddie share a deep love for music so they brought their portable record player along with a few of their favorite albums. We jammed out to some of their favorite music while they danced the session away and even Freyja got in on some of the action. Keeping with the punk rock theme, the couple ended their session by shotgunning a beer. An epic way to end the session if you ask me.
Hailee and Eddie’s energy was so contagious and we simply had the best time together despite the rainy weather. I had so much fun shooting their backyard wedding in Pendleton, Oregon last month so stay tuned to see more photos from this fun couple!
