Elizabeth and Gin’s Leach Botanical Garden wedding was an absolute dream! These brides chose a gorgeous wedding venue nestled in the forest near Portland and had the best time celebrating their love with all their favorite humans.
Elizabeth + Gin’s Engagement Story
Elizabeth and Gin got engaged during the fall of 2020. The couple had gone on a hike with their dog in the Columbia River Gorge and when they reached the top, Gin got down on one knee and proposed!
Because there was a lot of uncertainty still around the pandemic, Elizabeth and Gin waited a few months before starting to plan their wedding. This extra time gave Elizabeth the chance to propose back to Gin when their family was visiting them from out of town.
How Elizabeth + Gin Planned Their Leach Botanical Garden Wedding
Elizabeth and Gin got married at Leach Botanical Garden in Portland, Oregon. This garden is not only a great place to visit, but it is also a beautiful wedding venue nestled in the forest and surrounded by gorgeous plants and trees.
The morning of the wedding, the brides got ready separately on-site with their wedding party which included best human, human of honor, and their officiant. They had decided they wanted their first look to be when they walked down the aisle. When it comes to first looks, there is no right or wrong way to go. It all comes down to what you want as a couple.
For their garden wedding ceremony, Elizabeth and Gin each wrote and exchanged personal vows which is always a super special touch. Afterward, the three of us took off for some couple photos amongst the forest trees and greenery before heading back in for their dinner reception.
Elizabeth and Gin’s reception was one of the highlights of the evening! The brides (and their wedding party) made an awesome entrance down the staircase during cocktail hour. Their friends and family gave amazing speeches which had everyone laughing and crying.
After dinner, the brides and I headed back out for more couple portraits during golden hour. The venue has an elevated walkway among the trees which totally gave it treehouse vibes.
We finished the evening with the brides’ first dance followed by more dancing with their guests. These guys sure knew how to bring the party. Everyone got down on the dance floor, including G’s grandma!
The evening didn’t stop there though. For their exit, a friend of the brides put glitter on all the guests before they headed out to a local bar for more celebration.
Elizabeth and Gin’s Leach Botanical Garden wedding was an incredible time! Every detail was planned so perfectly and the whole day was an absolute blast!
