As an Oregon elopement photographer I absolutely love getting to be a part of my clients’ special days. There is nothing that compares to being a small part of their stories and helping them create memories. Every once in a while though, I get a creative idea or vision and I just have to bring it to life! That’s how this Thunder Island elopement styled shoot came about. I teamed up with some of the best Oregon elopement vendors who helped bring this vision to life and today I’m so excited to share it with you!
How We Planned This Elopement Styled Shoot on Thunder Island
When we started planning this styled photo shoot, we first had to pick a location. Immediately the Columbia River Gorge came to mind. An elopement next to the water sounded like an absolute dream and with incredible views of the Bridge of the Gods, Thunder Island made for the most gorgeous elopement ceremony location.
Vanessa and Sean were our amazing models for this styled photo shoot. We started off the day with some getting-ready moments. The couple each wrote their vows before going outside for a first look by the river.
For the ceremony, we walked across the bridge over to Thunder Island. The couple exchanged their vows and rings but the magic didn’t stop there. Sean had written his vows into song lyrics and played them for Vanessa on his guitar. It was the absolute sweetest moment!
We then took couple portraits with the Bridge of the Gods in the background. For their reception, Amanda Jean PDX Events set up an outdoor sweetheart table on the ground with the prettiest summer colors and florals by Spritely Floral. Vanessa and Sean shared a charcuterie board and Sean serenaded us all with more music. They finished the evening cutting cake from Rachel’s Little Bakeshop.
This styled photo shoot was so much fun to plan! I seriously can’t thank all the incredible vendors who helped make this gorgeous shoot possible enough!
